The Yamaguchi range of tracked mini dumpers has made a strong impression in the local market since being launched by heavy equipment sales and service specialist Semco Group, with the Japanese designed and manufactured machines decked out to get the job done efficiently and effectively in tight spaces.
All models in the range – spanning five compact mini dumpers, weighing in from 380kg through to 1380kg – run Kubota diesel engines, and feature a low centre of gravity, while low ground pressure impact and distributed ground contact minimises risk on sites where infrastructure may lie close to the surface.
In addition to this, a notable advantage of using tracked machines is the ability to traverse construction trenches, while minimal ground disturbance is also beneficial in coastal areas, which may comprise canals and waterways, soft or sandy terrain, or other unstable surfaces.
The range is narrow in width and capable of being safely manoeuvred through tight spaces, providing an efficient option when working job sites where space is at a premium and where it may not be practical to deploy an excavator or compact track loader.
The Yamaguchi range, designed for simple operation and easy maintenance, consists of the following models:
- WB06 – pedestrian operated, weighs in at 380kg, measures in at 780mm in width, and has a payload capacity of 600kg; runs a Kubota OC60 4.4 kW engine, maximum speed of 5km/h.
- WB06HL – pedestrian operated, weighs in at 465kg, measures in at 725mm in width, and has a payload capacity of 600kg (can lift a 600kg payload up to 1320mm and tip into a skip); runs a Kubota OC60 4.4 kW engine, maximum speed of 5.7km/h.
- WB07 – ride-on, weighs in at 510kg, measures in at 880mm in width, and has a payload capacity of 700kg; runs a Kubota OC60 4.4 kW engine, maximum speed of 5.2km/h.
- WB12 – ride-on, weighs in at 885kg, measures in at 980mm in width, and has a payload capacity of 1200kg (has 3-way tipping); runs a Kubota Z482 9.5 kW engine, maximum speed of 6.9km/h.
- WB18 DTB – ride-on, weighs in at 1380kg, measures in at 1290mm in width, and has a payload capacity of 1800kg (can be discharged in any direction via a tip/swivel action); runs a Kubota D902 16.1 kW engine, maximum speed of 7.4km/h.
