World Landscape Architecture Month

World Landscape Architecture Month runs throughout April, and allows everyone to advocate for, and showcase, the diverse range of work (design, management, policy, education, research, etc.) landscape architects undertake daily.

World Landscape Architecture Month is an international commemoration of landscape architecture — modeled private and public areas, and is organised by the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA).

Individuals and communities around the world have deep personal connections to the settings landscape architects design — they just aren’t aware of it. In conjunction with the ASLA, landscape architects from all over the world will highlight these spaces and the role they play in creating a structured and comfortable environment.

History

Landscape architecture is the art of combining man-made structures, such as buildings and asphalt, with natural landscapes and concepts for landform, water, and plants. The month honouring the professionals was established by the American Society of Landscape Architects to recognise the contribution of landscape architects to communities.

Landscape architects build areas intended to be utilised and enjoyed by everyone, from scenic pathways, gardens, and entire neighbourhoods to smoothly running motorways. April is the time to celebrate the talent and devotion of these professionals.
