In a fast-paced, skilled industry like landscaping, staying ahead of the curve isn’t just smart – it’s essential. That’s where LIAWA, the Landscape Industries Association of WA, steps in.

As the peak membership-based association for Western Australian landscapers, LIAWA exists to advocate, educate and connect, all while helping you grow your business and your career.

Workforce support and alternative pathways

Finding skilled staff can be one of the biggest hurdles in landscaping. LIAWA is now partnering with Outcare and Reboot to connect members with pre-trained, job-ready candidates.
• Outcare helps people in the justice system access sustainable employment, reframing past mistakes as opportunities for growth. Many participants complete a Certificate II in Horticulture while in WA prisons, gaining practical skills such as growing produce for prison kitchens.
• Reboot provides a Certificate II in Civil Construction and supports graduates with mentors, tailored employment opportunities, and ongoing guidance. Its graduates have a 95 per cent placement success rate with low recidivism. Landscaping companies, including Deep Green, LD Total and TDL, are already engaging with Reboot in helping provide real-world work experience and building the next generation of skilled landscapers.

Through these partnerships, LIAWA members can access alternative workforce options while contributing to meaningful social outcomes. Early in 2026, LIAWA will be arranging special workforce events for members.

New awards program in 2026

LIAWA is proposing to launch a new awards program in 2026, focusing on affordable and achievable design and build categories. LIAWA plans to showcase the industry’s best projects at WA’s Premier Garden showcase, giving members a platform to showcase talent, innovation, sustainability and practical excellence in landscaping.
