Wacker Neuson EZ25 excavator

The Wacker Neuson EZ25 excavator has been designed and built from the ground up to ensure impressive performance, flexibility and ease of use, thanks its zero-swing tail and exceptionally smooth handling.

But don’t let that lead you into thinking this machine is small or lacking in power. The 2.5-tonne excavator provides excellent room for the operator, both when entering and exiting the cab and sitting in the chair, and factory-fitted two-way auxiliary hydraulic lines make the EZ25 ready for attachments like the hydraulic breaker. Also included from the factory are the hydraulic quick hitch and hydraulic hoses at the front of the machine, a huge time saver which will make operators who regularly change attachments, especially solo operators, very happy.

Coming in at only 1.6m wide, the EZ25 can be trailered behind a 4WD with a 3.5-tonne load limit, making the EZ25 a great option for tradies, landscapers, pool installers and anyone running similar set ups. Operators looking to use hammers, augers, and grabs will appreciate the hydraulic performance, with the EZ25 running just over 60 litres per minute, ensuring the machine will be more than capable of handling anything thrown at it on the attachment front.

Test operator Kelly Burton

For our test drive of the Wacker Neuson EZ25 excavator we had Kelly Burton from KBL rip into some work with a few different buckets and come back to us on just how the Wacker Neuson performed.

Kelly Burton from KBL ripped into some work with a few different buckets and came away very impressed.

“Being a European-designed machine, the first thing I noticed was the spacious operating platform for the operator,” said Kelly. “This seems to be something Wacker Neuson does across its entire range which really suits Australian operators. “When it came to firing up the EZ25, the best way to describe how it felt was ‘smooth’. It handles like it’s a much bigger machine. It’s got impressive capabilities, yet that power is delivered in such a great, seamless way. For operators working long days in their machine that’s great news.

The front blade has been over engineered for operators who love to really push things to the limit.

“The smooth feel significantly reduces fatigue and stress at the end of the day.”

“Another great feature above and beyond the obvious breakout and lifting performance of the EZ25,” Kelly continued, “which, by the way, for a 2.5-tonne machine was excellent, was the front blade. It’s been over engineered for us Australian operators who love to really push things to the limit. During testing we both dug and pushed around a pile of dirt and rock with great results.

“The last thing I’d like to mention is the ROPS, which can quickly and easily be removed by simply undoing eight bolts and lifting it off with a friend. This will give access into carports and other areas with low ceiling heights, and makes it awesome for storing the machine in a garage when not in use.”

The wrap up

When it comes to daily checks, fluids, and maintenance, the Wacker Neuson EZ25 excavator offers great access and ease of use. With colour-coded nipples and easy-to-view-in-a-glance fluid indicators, keeping the EZ25 running smoothly will be as easy as it gets. Wacker Neuson machinery comes with a five-year nationwide warranty which, when combined with all the features, power and performance of the EZ25, delivers a highefficiency work capability. If you’re in the market for a 2.5-tonne zero tail machine you’d be mad not to get in contact with your local Wacker Neuson dealer to arrange a demo.
