Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia Pty Ltd (HCA) is renowned for providing a specialist range of reliable solutions equipment to the Australian construction and mining industries. With a national wholly owned branch network, HCA’s after-sales support is only a phone call away. In New South Wales alone, there are five centralised HCA branches across the state, three HCA sub dealerships all backed by the 24/7 customer support centre. You can’t go wrong teaming up with HCA as a provider of construction equipment.
This is particularly true with the first addition of Hitachi machinery to the Illawarra regions most upcoming civil and earthmoving company, Valley Views Civil (VV Civil). A privately owned business based in Wollongong, New South Wales; VV Civil reached out to HCA’s sub-dealer ‘Illawarra Attachments & Machinery (IAM)’ as a like-minded provider offering reliable and cost-effective earthmoving solutions to cater to the diverse needs of the civil and earthmoving industry.
Since VV Civil formed in February 2021, owner Kyle Caunt has typically operated with other earthmoving brands until Ray at IAM suggested the Hitachi brand, “He was able to provide me with on-the-spot pricing for a new Hitachi mini excavator ZX17U-5 and there was no fuss from the agreed date of arrival. The service has been impeccable since the day I signed for it,” said Kyle.
“Ray pinpointed my needs from the beginning and ensured the machine was built to my preferred specifications, purpose fit for the projects I have upcoming. I’ve been purchasing attachments from
Ray for years, so I respect his industry knowledge and advice on machines that are quality manufactured and reliable,” said Kyle.
VV Civil are among some of the first customers to take advantage of Hitachi’s ambition to grow their national network through a sub-dealership model with like-minded equipment providers across Australia.
HCA’s National Product Manager for Light Construction Equipment, Nina Gibson says, “We understand new equipment isn’t easily attainable in certain regions, therefore we’re committed to providing the market with more accessible support to access quality mini excavators that are supported by Hitachi’s national after-sales network.”
Since taking delivery of the ZX17, the compact mini has been sent to work on a large retaining wall project in Kembla Grange, and with another Hitachi machine on order, a mini excavator ZX85USB-5 with a pad crawler scheduled to work on 13 duplex cuts in August, VV Civil show no signs of slowing down.
More recently, Kyle says they’re considering a mid-size excavator ZX135 for a large commercial project in Jervis Bay scheduled for later in the year.
Growing his fleet and his team, Kyle has been moving at the speed of light to become the South Coast’s newest provider of haulage, excavation and machine float to tackle the housing development boom, residential retaining walls and the new build market. Also specialising in the transport industry, VV Civil own a fleet of trucks in their haulage division expanding their capabilities beyond the civil capacity, enhancing their service offerings to clients whilst maintaining a competitive edge.
Since the acquisition of the new mini excavator, the team at VV Civil are most impressed by “the code system, it provides extra security for those jobs where the machine stays overnight, giving the team peace of mind,” says Kyle.
He also credits the “quick hitch system and the recommended bucket size seems to be larger than competitors making it more productive overall”.
The excavators range from 1.7 tonne to 8.5 tonne with just about every attach- ment available. The applications of the excavators are diverse and vary between electricians, plumbers, landscapers and builders alike.
With an expanding fleet of reliable equipment along with customised tailored service, VV Civil’s growth in the civil and earthmoving industry is set for a vast and continuous increase. HCA and its sub dealer IAM wish VV Civil the very best with their future endeavours and look forward to working together as the company continues their expansion.
