“We’ve done athletics fields worth $5.5 million down to backyard installations valued at around $2000. Tuff Group is diverse,” Group Sales Manager Steve Ralph told Landscape Contractor magazine.
“Essentially, Tuff Group does playground surfacing, sports fields, and acrylic surfaces. We do a lot of residential work with our synthetic grass options as well.”
Those installs are overseen by a staff of around 60 people working from offices and depots in places like Yass and Queanbeyan in regional NSW, and suburban Brisbane Sydney, and Melbourne.
“We go where the work takes us,” said Ralph. “We’ll service our customers wherever they may be.”

Ralph gave an overview of a typical largescale Tuff Group job.
“We put down a base, and then the premium rubbers on top are provided by A1 Rubber. A1 Rubber also provides the under layer, and that ensures we meet the free-fall height regulations. Then we put synthetic grass on top.”
