Sunbrush Australia chooses JCB

Sunbrush Australia chose a JCB 48Z-1 mini excavator to clean and maintain solar panels owned by one of Australia’s largest energy providers.

Based in Williamtown, just north of Newcastle in New South Wales, SunBrush Australia’s innovation and solutions-focused service is driving remarkable growth in the national solar industry.

An expanding venture of HCB, SunBrush Australia is an industry leader in the supply of cleaning and operator-maintenance equipment for industrial and commercial solar panels. Utilising innovative combinations of premium machines and specialised attachments, the SunBrush Australia team is able to carry out the technical and challenging task of solar-panel maintenance with unmatched efficiency and quality.

Recently, SunBrush Australia acquired a JCB 48Z-1 mini excavator from local machinery supplier Hunter JCB, which is used in tandem with a SunBrush Rapid panel-cleaning brush attachment, to clean and maintain solar panels owned by one of Australia’s largest energy providers.

Versatile

JCB’s four-tonne 48Z-1 excavator has been developed to exceed even the most exacting demands, and JCB claims it’s one of the strongest and highest performing mini excavators ever built. It’s highly productive, compact, agile, innovative and economical to own, and includes exclusive safety features, is smooth to operate and easy to service.

Logan Haggerston, business owner and Director at SunBrush Australia, commented: “One of the key reasons we chose the JCB mini excavator is its combination of a high hydraulic-flow rate plus a stretch boom function. The JCB is the excavator that allows us to not only run the Rapid attachment hydraulics, but also articulate its angle to perfectly align with the solar panels, giving a precise, fast and efficient clean, even on three- and four-panel solar arrays.

“Not only that, an extra advantage of the JCB 48Z-1 is the fact it can run other attachments and articulate them around as well – we can run mulchers and other attachments to clear growth around the panels, making the JCB extremely versatile,” continued Logan.
