New Massey Ferguson GC1700 Series Sub-Compact Tractors

Massey Ferguson, a worldwide brand of AGCO Corporation (NYSE: AGCO), is proud to announce the release of new models to its MF GC1700 Series sub-compact range.

Replacing the previous MF GC1705, 1715 and 1720 models, the new MF GC1723E and 1725M models now feature similar styling to the larger tractors under the Massey Ferguson banner.

“We’re introducing the new models to the market with redesigned styling, functionality and control placement, which will make the new MF GC Series easy to own and a pleasure to operate. There are specification options to suit most users which will make them ideal for grounds-care and farm work, whether the job is commercial or residential, we’re confident the new range will get the job done efficiently,” says Simon Van Kruining, product manager for Massey Ferguson compact tractors.

The new GC1700 Series can be equipped to take on multiple tasks and has the exceptional durability and performance features expected from a Massey Ferguson.

Engine features: A Quiet and Efficient Powerhouse

The GC1700 Series sub-compact tractors effortlessly undertake a vast number of projects, powered by the fuel-efficient, 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled diesel engine. The high-torque engine is protected under a very functional, solid metal hood with a tilt-up design that makes access to the engine quick and easy.

Both models feature a low-rated engine rpm that reduces vibration and noise to improve engine life and decrease fuel consumption. The radiator and radiator fan are strategically placed behind the engine, pulling hot air away from the operator, keeping both the operator and engine cooler.

Redesigned for Greater Operator Convenience and Comfort

Guided by customer input and constant testing, the design of the new GC1700 Series offers improvements that make the tractors more convenient, comfortable and easier to operate. A wide-open, clutter-free platform with an all new flat floor design allows the operator to move on and off the tractor with ease and offers plenty of space for natural leg movement.

A new ergonomically designed seat now features arm rests with adjustments to custom-fit any body profile for exceptional driving comfort. A new adjustable tilt steering allows for ideal positioning of the steering wheel to match the height and preference of the operator.

For further convenience, new covered storage compartments provide protection and easy access to tools and operator accessories.

To improve overall operating performance for multiple functions, the hydraulic joystick is to the right side of the front console, putting the control lever within easy reach of the operator. Its refined linkage provides smoother operation to reduce the amount of arm movement for the user. A safety lockout lever prevents the operator from inadvertently bumping the joystick or operating the hydraulics when in the locked position.

The loader quick-attach design allows the operator to effortlessly remove each attachment when necessary

Speed and Control

The GC1700 series features a two-range hydrostatic transmission with variable speeds from zero to top speed in each range. Hydrostatic foot pedals are strategically located on the right side of the platform, while the brake pedal is on the left side. The foot pedals are spring-loaded and designed to return to a neutral position when released. The cruise control is located on the front dash panel for easy access. This allows effortless engagement by simply pushing down on the orange handle once the desired speed is reached. Pulling up on the handle or pressing any foot pedal will disengage the cruise control.

Optional Attachments

The new models are equipped to handle a wide range of attachments and accessories. An optional front loader is available that has been specifically tailored to deliver maximum performance and an optional 54” mowing deck delivers the finest cut.

For extra versatility, the MF GC1725M model can be fitted with a quick-attached, self-standing backhoe. The boom float feature makes it easier for the operator to position the bucket, create an even floor bed in the cut and provide smooth grading operation when backfilling.

“Users today are looking for a comfortable tractor that is productive and versatile to tackle a range of tasks and they also expect it to be exceptional value and this is exactly what we are offering with the new MF GC Series,” says Simon.
