The 2023 National Custodians of Country Gathering provides a unique forum for Traditional Owners and First Nations people, together with people involved in agriculture and natural resource management, to explore best practice and innovation, share practical information and stories, create partnerships and take new ideas back to their workplaces and communities.
On behalf of Firesticks Alliance, Landcare Australia invites Expression of Interest to present at the National Custodians of Country Gathering (the Gathering) hosted in Cairns from August 21-25, 2023.
Those eligible to submit an expression of interest are:
* First Nations peoples involved in Cultural land management with a landcare group. Landholder or farmer, and/or
* A non-Indigenous individual, group, organisation or government agency involved landcare activities focused on delivering agricultural and environmental outcomes in partnership with a First Nations organisation/individual.
The expression of interest is open to presenters focused on the key theme areas of:
* Innovations in practical Cultural land and sea management
* Biodiversity
* Threatened species management
* Sustainable agriculture
* Capacity building activities, and
* Community and individual wellbeing.
Authors are invited to submit an expression of interest of no more than 500 words which concisely outlines the objectives and outcomes of their proposed practical presentation. You may submit more than one paper.
The deadline for the EoI is Friday 28 April 2023.
