Hansa has a new sustainable headquarters.
When contractors hear the phrase “world-class chippers” most imagine hefty over-powering machines manufactured and designed half the world away like the states or the UK. However, Hansa are shaking things up – designing and manufacturing world-class chippers from right on our doorstep – and as of 19th December 2018 their full range are now distributed direct to Australia.
Past
First established in 1980 in a honey shed. Hansa founder, Manfred Vogel, saw an opportunity for chippers soon after settling in New Zealand, “I could see the overseas trend coming and yet nobody here was interested in making shredders, so in 1981 I left my job and started to make them myself.”
Hansa’s precision engineered brush chippers are now among those heralded as the best in the business. Martin Vogel, who took over from his father in 2008, continues to maintain the customer-focused values laid down by Manfred, and ensures that everyone involved in the business – including the customer – are treated as part of the Hansa family.
Present
Today, after 25 years of working through a distributor, Hansa are reassuming the rights for direct distribution of acreage chippers to Australian dealers. As of 19th December 2018, their full acreage range is now distributed to over 120 dealers throughout Australia via their Brisbane based facilities.
Additionally, Hansa have also announced the recent completion of their new purpose-built 3000sqm headquarters in New Zealand. Always investing in design and quality, Hansa sees the new site as the next stepping stone to reach ambitious (yet very achievable) milestones – the first being the completion of their 25,000th chipper, which they anticipate reaching in early 2019.
Future
Martin said, “Hansa has a strong reputation built over the last 38 years. For the future, it is our goal to build on this reputation with quality products and service that our customers love to use for a lifetime. It’s about doing business sustainably and playing our part in what is really a niche market.”
With Australia as its focus, the new facilities include additional factory, storage, service and office spaces to better service the export side of the business.
