Scotts has teamed up with Movember to build support for men’s mental health, one lawn at a time. The ‘Grow or Mow?’ challenge is encouraging Aussies to grow their lawns ahead of the official ‘Big Mow’ on 30 November.
Scotts Lawn Builder is proud to announce its official partnership with leading men’s health charity, Movember.
In its inaugural year, Grow or Mow? encourages Aussies to grow their lawns throughout Spring to achieve full and flourishing grass, ahead of the official Movember ‘Big Mow’ on Sunday, 30 November 2025 – all while raising awareness for men’s health.
With men in Australia three times more likely to die by suicide, and many facing barriers when it comes to seeking help, this partnership highlights the urgent need for awareness, support and action. Through this campaign Scotts and Movember are working together to encourage Aussies to step outside, connect with their neighbours over the fence or at the mailbox, nurture their lawns, and in turn, tend to their own mental wellbeing.
Movember research shows Australian men are more likely to live a less healthy lifestyle compared to women, with 55 per cent of respondents reporting they don’t get the recommended level of exercise needed for a healthy lifestyle[ii]. Taking an opportunity to step outside and enjoy nature, whether maintaining a lawn or simply enjoying thicker, greener grass between the toes, is a great way to stay active and nurture mental well-being.
The Grow or Mow? Challenge invites Aussies to get involved with Movember in a new way — by growing their lawns instead of a moustache. There are a few ways to get involved in the Grow or Mow? Challenge. Aussies can head into Bunnings to purchase Scotts Lawn Builder Lawn Food Granular, with every pack purchase helping support men’s health. Participants can use Scotts Lawn Builder Lawn Food to nurture their lawns throughout Spring, before joining the nationwide Big Mow on 30 November 2025.
