If you’re a tradie who works on sites that regularly include moving materials like palettes of cement, large amounts of sand, gravel or road base, or even digging holes for posts or fencing, then the Ditch Witch SK755 could be the multi-purpose skid steer you’ve been looking for.
The fantastic all-rounder has power, speed and flexibility to complete a massive amount of tasks in record time. Driven by a Kubota diesel engine, you know you are going to get exceptional reliability and outstanding power for all functions, with low-maintenance requirements. While on the maintenance front the entire machine is greaseless (except to the track tensioning system), which means fewer daily checks and requirements.
Enhanced Operator Platform
From an operator’s perspective, the Ditch Witch SK755 is user-friendly on the knees and lower back when standing on the rear platform. Smaller machines from other brands can almost feel like you’re about to be thrown off the machine, but the SK755 felt solid, stable, and the suspension platform on the enhanced operator station did a great job at smoothing out the ride
The layout of the hand controls are well designed and laid out providing intuitive and smooth controls at all times. The inclusion of the two-way auxiliary control foot pedal made life very easy to maintain hydraulic flow to your attachments while freeing up your hands to control movement and depth control. This impressive configuration will improve efficiencies and productivity.
There is a brilliant float section on the lift arm control valve, which enhances the productivity of attachments that follow the contour of the ground.
Low-Maintenance
This skid steer is no slouch when it comes to ground speed with a top speed of 7.6km/h. The innovative high-drive track system has bolt-on brackets and wide track rollers for improved stability and longer track life. As I touched on earlier the track system is very low-maintenance – operators can quickly retention the tracks themselves onsite due to a simplified adjustment and removal track system.
When it came to brute force and power, the SK755 boasts industry-leading power and provides unbeatable productivity.
As most landscapers know, a machine that can get the job done quickly and safely with minimal fuss and maintenance is always going to be very successful on the worksite.
Over 70 Attachments Available
Versatility is also crucial for many landscapers investing in a machine that can only effectively be used for a specific task or tasks. Landscapers need flexible machines with a good number of attachments – the Ditch Witch SK755 certainly ticks those boxes with more than 70 attachments for a wide range of landscaping tasks. The quick connect attachment fittings means you will be able to quickly swap between your auxiliary hydraulic attachments.
The Wrap-Up
When we put the SK755 through its paces up at Active Tree Services we had plenty of room, but the machine has a tidy footprint, which makes it perfect for tight access on smaller residential jobs. With a max track width of 1.06m and centre ground clearance of 226mm, there isn’t a lot of places this machine can’t go. We pushed large logs and branches around, cleaned up the site, picked up impressive log sections (thanks to the 363kg rated operating capacity), and moved around a pile of material that with the 2.62m operating height of the SK755, would easily be able to tip into skip bins, utes and trucks.
The team at Ditch Witch have considered the operator’s position and comfort as well as providing smooth and easy to operate controls, which makes the Ditch Witch SK755 an all-round standout performer.
