Digga, Australia’s largest manufacturer and exporter of gearboxes and machinery attachments have been recognised at the recent Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards and the Premier of Queensland Export Awards.
Digga won the October Award for Manufacturing & Construction, in the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards on Wednesday the 24th of October and the following night were awarded the coveted Dermot McManus Award at the Queensland Export Awards as well as being named finalist in the construction category.
The Dermot McManus Award is one of 4 major awards handed out on the night and it recognises exporters that have demonstrated strong leadership ability in business innovation and best practice, including strategy, production and processes. The award follows the opening of Digga’s 5th company owned facility this year in the USA. The state of the art 4,300sqm facility is in Dyersville Iowa. The town where the movie ‘Field of Dreams’ was filmed. It is centrally based for fast supply & service to Digga’s growing North America dealer network.
Digga’s world class gearboxes and componentry are manufactured on the Gold Coast and shipped to the Iowa facility, where additional assembly and fabrication of products is performed. “Export markets are a significant focus of Digga’s growth plans, ensuring the long term future of our main manufacturing facility on the Gold Coast” said Suzie Wright, Digga CEO.
By winning the monthly award at the Gold Coast Business Awards Digga is now in the running to win the Supreme award for Gold Coast Business of the Year, an award Digga has won twice previously in 2003 and 2009. “We’re delighted to be presented with this award, it honours our dedicated teams whose energy & talent keep Digga at the forefront of our industry and manufacturing in Australia… We’ve had a great year, our businesses in Australia, Europe and America have all seen good growth…” she commented.
Digga is 100% privately Australian owned and manufactures over 32 ranges of machinery attachments such as auger drives, trenchers, augers, brooms and wear parts for the earthmoving machinery Industry.
Digga currently exports to over 52 countries supporting over 400 dealers and distributors worldwide and employing over 200 people.
